The rain we experienced continued for the evening and the morning was cold...   Barbara's electric vest was not working and I found a blown fuse...  After finally finding a fuse she again felt better...   Getting her vest working was a good idea because next we climbed to the top of the volcano for Crater Lake...  There we found the trees and ground covered with the first snow of the season...  Barbara was enamored with the blue of the lake...

Out of Crater Lake using  #62 through Grants Pass.  We crossed over the Rogue River several times..  The river seemed larger up here than it did when we were riding on it a couple of years ago near Golds Beach...

Out and South from Crater Lake we stopped at a small place that Bill H. knew (The Harvest Depot), for breakfast where there are trains along the walls...

He also picked a place for an ice cream stop that provided huge soft ice cream on top of small cones...

From there we continued south west on #199 through Jedadiah Smith Redwoods State Park and on to Crescent City where we stopped to visit Bill H's. granddaughter...

By the time we reached the small town of Trinidad,  the small diner I think makes the best clam chowder was closed...  The stop for clam chowder I had been anticipating was a wash...  Oh well....

On to Arcata for the night and a very good dinner and wine...  The waiter at the restaurant (a sommelier in training), boasted that this wine (a Barbera),  was just rated in a state contest the best red wine...  It was very good...
