A motion was made to dispense with reading the minutes. The motion was seconded, voted on and passed.

Dinner

Destination:  Olive Garden Restaurant.  Chatsworth

In Attendance: Robert & Carolyn,  Jim & Jackie,  Bill Vest,  Fred & Marlene & Michael,  Steve Sandow,  Ray & Susan Hunt.

It was a mixed experience for the evening.    This crew really mixed up the orders.  The billing mix ups came next.  Robert and Carolyn finally asked to speak with the manager because of the late delivery of the food (some were finished eating before others were served and then incorrectly).  The manager explained that there was a new system and the mix ups were caused by that.  Even so,  there were no compensations for the poor service.

The Zinfandel that I ordered came back as a White Zinfandel. After that I thought the dinner was very nice because my food tasted very good.

Destination: Beaumont and Palm Springs

Captain:  Jim & Jackie

Jim & Jackie along with Dal & Gwenn made a trip to Camper World to look at elaborate and expensive motor homes and lots built for them.  After that show the then went to a car show in Palm Springs..  Then then had an overnighter in Indio where all had fun with the story about filling the air mattress and with Jackie being full of air.  The second night the air was better.  They then met up with  Jacques and Matilde before rounding up the trip with a 2 hour trip home on the Pomona Freeway.

Steve Sandow's vacation trip to Mexico was cut short when he found out his mothers trailer was completely destroyed in the Sayre fire.  Returning early he found his mother was fine but that both his cars burned to a crisp and melted.  Steve brought one of his wheels from his Taurus that had coalesced into a puddle about 1/2 inch thick by 2ft by 9 inches.  Since returning he reports that the Salvation Army and FEMA and many other help organizations have been great at providing assistance such as blankets,  clothes (both used and new),  money and free meals from local merchants.

Dal and Gwenn live within the evacuation area of the Sayre fire.  Neither of them knew of this because they both had removed their hearing aids before going to bed.  Luckily the fire did not get to their home or it could have been a tragedy for them.

Yearly dues will be accepted by any club officer who will pass them to our returning VP Treasurer Jackie Warren.
