General rules to be Followed During a Ride

Both driver and passenger should wear protective clothing such as:
Boots, Gloves, Helmet, Safety glasses or Goggles, etc...

Always follow posted speed limit signs and all highway laws.

Never put yourself or anyone else in a position that could cause an accident.

Maintain your bike so that it is safe to ride.

Before every ride: There will be a driver's meeting.
It is mandatory that all drivers attend the driver's meeting.
During this meeting, the Road Captain, Referee, and Assistant Referee's duties will be assigned and will remain the same unless a designated change takes place at which time all in the group will be notified.
If you are not going to finish the ride with the group, please inform the Road Captain and/or the Referee.
If there is a large number of bikes, the Road Captain has the option to create several smaller groups.
Riding on freeways: Ride in a staggered formation.
The Road Captain and Referee will then be in direct view of each other.
Keep a safe distance apart. When changing lanes, the Road Captain will inform the Referee which lane he wants.
The Referee will then change lanes when it is clear and safe for the entire group.
The rest of the group will then change lanes in front of the Referee.
Special circumstances may dictate a change in this procedure by the Road Captain or the Referee.
Also, try to keep your position in the group as constant as possible, because when you swap positions, all others in the group must then change to maintain the staggered formation.
Riding on two-lane or city streets: Ride in single file. Pass when you can do so safely.
Don't worry about getting left behind, as the Road Captain and Referee will not be running away from you.
When going through a stop sign or signal, bunch up so that we can get as many bikes as possible through at one time.
However, do so only if it is safe. Watch your rear-view mirror.
If a car or other vehicle is in a hurry to pass, pull over as far to the right as is safe and let them go by.
Emergency on freeway: The Referee will stop with the bike in trouble and will contact the Road Captain as to the problem.
The Road Captain will lead the group off the freeway at the first available off ramp.
If it is safe to do so, the Assistant Referee will then wait at the off-ramp to indicate the location of the rest of the group.
The Road Captain will stop at the nearest safe spot and wait for the Referee.
Emergency on two-lane and/or city street: Referee will stop with the bike in trouble. The rest of the group will stop as soon as they can safely pull off the road.
The Assistant Referee will temporarily assume the Referee's duties.

THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!        IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

ABOVE ALL ELSE        RIDE SAFELY!
