Creating A Link to California Fours WEB Site

  1. First print these instructions so you can view them while setting this up.

  2. Close all windows until only your desktop remains.

  3. Right click in an unused space somewhere on your desktop.  A new window will open containing several selections.

  4. Select NEW and another new window will open next to the original with additional selections.

  5. Select Shortcut by highlighting and left clicking on it.  A new window will open with an empty address bar titled Create Shortcut.  The the Wizard Bar titled Type the location of the item will be empty.

  6. You will now place the internet address of the California Fours WEB site into the the Wizard Bar titled Type the location of the item.  The actual address is  http://www.calif4s.com .  You can place the address by selecting one of the following processes

    1. Manually type the actual address into the blank address bar.    The address is highlighted above in blue text and must be typed exactly as presented.

    2. Copy and paste method (preferred)

      • To copy and paste, start by bringing up this page on your computer in a new window.

      • Highlight the blue text in this paragraph.

      • While holding down the Ctrl button, press the C button.  This copies the address into windows.

      • Swap  back to the Create Shortcut window.  place your cursor in the the Wizard Bar titled Type the location of the item and left click once.

      • While holding down the Ctrl button, press the V button.  The exact address of the California Fours WEB site will appear.

  7. Take the time to make certain that the address matches exactly the address found above.

  8. Select the Next button.

  9. Type "California Fours" (or whatever you want without the quotes), into the title bar and select the Finish button. You will be returned to your desktop.

  10. There will be a new link Icon there titled California Fours (or whatever else you typed).  Make sure you are connected to the internet and then select the new link to see if it works.
